About Wenqi’s Research:
This project asks how feminist film practices have figured in the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF)’s curatorial history and networks, and what its archives reveal about their visibility and historical relevance. It aims to examine how EIFF programmed and framed these practices; investigate the local, national and transnational relationships through which they circulated; and analyse how archival records and gaps shape later accounts of the Festival’s history and institutional identity. An archival survey of EIFF-related holdings at the National Library of Scotland and other relevant collections will inform the selection of periods and case studies for closer analysis.
