Living still with injury: writing reparative Midrash as an act of feminist resistant memory making.

I am a DFA candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow, having previously studied BA (Hons) Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and MLitt Art Writing at the Glasgow School of Art. My doctoral research draws on conceptions of reparative reading to explore how writing contemporary feminist Midrash (Jewish Biblical exegesis) can both affirm and investigate the complexities of cultural inheritance and identification. Articulating a mode of writing, and living, otherwise as a queer Jewish woman, I will write myself into the margins of a culture whose traditions are both embedded in me and casting me out.
