About Samantha’s Research:
While Glasgow is home to world-renowned live music venues, it is estimated that a quarter of the city’s population are disabled, with many facing challenges to access such venues due to a range of legislative, economic, physical and social barriers. Working in partnership with the Musicians’ Union, this project explores accessibility within Glasgow’s live music industries from the perspective of disabled musicians. This project also builds capacity for musicians – and the Musicians’ Union – to become agents of change within the live music sector, providing evidence to inform policy and practice across the venues where they perform and attend events.
